The definition of FR4 Epoxy Glass Cloth Laminated Sheet is a matrix of fiberglass and epoxy which is used for most of today’s PC board substrates. It is available in many different thickness such as 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and above 3.0mm. The color of it is usually green and is mechanically strong, rugged, and stable. So making holes on the board cannot be punched, instead they must be drilled.

 

Fire resistance

The “FR” in the FR4 Epoxy Glass Cloth Laminated Sheet refers to fire retardant which means the board will not sustain a fire. This is the key factor that the material is allowed to use in printed circuit board. Because circuit current levels on some PC board are in the tens and hundreds of amps which can initiate a fire if there is a short circuit, the fire retardant level reach to UL94-V0 is very essential property on FR4 material.

The new factory of Hebei JingHong Electronics Co., Ltd. will be officially put into production in October 2022.
